Neath Port Talbot Council plans to close three comprehensive schools – Cwrt Sart, Glanafan and Sandfields and build a new replacement school "Somewhere on Baglan Moors", if their bid for funding to the Welsh Assembly is successful.If they fail to secure this funding they do have a "Plan B" – still close Cwrt Sart and Glanafan schools and transfer pupils to Sandfields Comprehensive School.
Either way, we lose Cwrt Sart, not only a first class school (Fourth best performing school in Wales) but also an invaluable local facility providing a range of activities much used by local people in both the local communities of Briton Ferry and Melincryddan.
The Governing Body of Cwrt Sart Comprehensive School has launched a campaign against this proposal to close our school.
